Allergic rhinitis, a condition that can make you feel as if your nose is out to get you. It is often called allergies or hay fever and usually occurs when your immune system overreacts to particles, allergens, in the air that you breathe. Those allergens can include pollen grains from trees, grass, flowers, weeds, dust mites, animal dander, cockroaches, and mold as well as, wood dust, chemicals, or lab animals, etc.
Symptoms include sneezing especially after waking up, and having a runny nose and postnasal drip with clear discharge. Also, your ears, nose, and throat may feel itchy, and your eyes can become watery. If not controlled, allergic rhinitis may lead to serious complications such as otitis, conjunctivitis, rhinosinusitis, and asthma. It also makes you more susceptible to upper and lower respiratory tract infection.

- Keep the air moist: Keep the air and your nasal passages moist if you’re having sinus problems. Take long warm showers, apply warm compresses over your nose and mouth, and breathe in the steam from a pot on the stove. However, keep in mind that too much humidity can make dust mites thrive.
